Hirosaki Neputa is designated as an important intangible folk cultural property of Japan,
it is the festival that has the longest history in Neaputa (Nebuta) which is held in Aomori Prefecture.
It is the first time that Neputa float appears in history in 1722.
There is a record that the fifth clan lord owner Shinsuke visited Neputa in the clan diary.
The Hirosaki Neputa Festival is held from August 1 to August 7 every year.
