Kakunodate city is historic place that represent Tohoku region as well as Hirosaki city.
Samurai residencial area is located in northern side of the town and several samurai residence are preserved and opened to tourists in the area.
Dozens of weeping cherry trees are planted on roadside of the district and in full bloom in late April.
There are thousands of Yoshino cherry trees on riverbank of Hinokinai river nearby the area.
Many maple trees are also planted in the garden of samurai residence and it’s best time to see Autumn leaves in late October.
