Lake Towada is the world’s largest double caldera lake and surrounded by steep cliff.
It takes about 90 minutes by car from Hirosaki or Aomori to the lake.
Bus also runs from Hirosaki and Aomori to the lake from April to November.
Especially the bus between Aomori and Lake Towada via Oirase, Hakkoda only runs several time a day.
There are sevaral observatory around the lake and you can see the lake from various angles.
Pleasure cruiser also cruises between Nenokuchi and Yasumiya.
In the summer season the lake water shines in emerald green, Autumn leaves of the lake cliff is wonderful in late October.

Boat Adventure Guriland at Lake Towada
Guriland operates Japan’s first RIB(Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat) tour in special protected areas of national park is surrounded by cliffs.
RIB tour, operated by military inflatable boat, is as compared to the other pleasure boat on the lake, it is possible to approach closer to the shores and cliffs.
For that reason, you can see up close the various spots such as blue cove, rock of Christ, bear’s rock and divination spot etc.
Operating period is late April to early November, basic rate is JPY4,000~6,000 per adult.
It’s highly recommended that you get on the boat at the time of autumn foliage(late October), not only summer season.
