Shayokan is located in Goshogawara city and home of Japan’s famous novelist Dazai Osamu.
The building is designated as an important cultural property of Japan as a representative example of wooden buildings in the Meiji era.
The building was built with Japanese cypress by dazai’s father in 1907 and a blending of Japanese and Western styles building.
Warehouse is used as a exhibition room and exhibits writing tools and autographed manuscripts used by Dazai.
There is a Tsugaru Shamisen Hall opposite the building, and you can visit together.
This place is said to be the birthplace of Tsugaru Shamisen.
Tsugaru Shamisen is an ethnic instrument around here.
