Tsugaru railway runs about 20 km between Goshogawara station and Nakazato station.
Train carriage with coal stoves is operated only from December 1 to March 31 every year and The train operates three times a day for tourists.
Special fare for getting on the train is required(JPY 400 per one-way per person) besides basic fare.
If you get on the train, it’s recommended you buy dried cuttlefish on the train. It’s a speciality of the train.
The attendant will broil the cuttlefish on the stove for you.
The oldest train carriage was manufactured in 1953, the interior of the woodgrain truck has a retro atmosphere.
