Hakkoda Ropeway is a highlight of the tourism of this National Park.
Required time to the summit station of Tamoyachidake(Alt. 1,324m) is 10 minutes one way and the ropeway has been operating throughout a year.
If the sky is clear, you can overlook Mt.Iwaki, not only mountains of Hakkoda, but also Aomori city and Mutsu Bay, Tsugaru Peninsula, Shimokita Peninsula from the summit station.
Period of backcountry ski is from mid December to early May.
The Jyuhyo(Ice monster) is the must-see touristic spot in winter of Aomori. Best time to see them is through January to early March.
Jyuhyo(Ice Monster) is pine tree of endemic species in the mountain that is covered with frost.
The Jyuhyo can be seen 3 spots in Tohoku region of Japan.
Hakkoda is one of them, other are Mt.Moriyoshi in Akita, Mt.Zao in Yamagata.
